Welcome to BluePeople.com a discussion forum on Depression and Mental Illness!

1st May 2007

Welcome to BluePeople.com a discussion forum on Depression and Mental Illness.

BluePeople.com is for people who are affected by Depression and Mental Illness and for families, friends, sposes etc of those who affected by mental illness.

BluePeople.com is a forum for people who suffer from all forms of depression and mental illness, to stop the stigma surrounding this crisis, unfortunately many people are too scared to speak up and it is not as simple as saying “just snap out of it” or "just relax" or "think on the bright side!" How many times have you heard that! Yes, all the time! So I have seen the need to start this site to help not only myself learn and to get better, but to help others as well. I have seen what my other forums has done for many people, such as creating new friends, a place to confide in with friends, a place were others understand and much more and I know that if Blu ePeople.com saves or helps just one person, then it will be worth it, and I truly believe that this forum will be a life saver to people on the brink!

I believe that BluePeople.com will help many people because Depression and other Mental Illnesses are one of worlds biggest killers of people world wide, already the site is getting new members. So I ask you, if you, a friend of yours, a family member suffers from Mental Health issues, please tell them about BluePeople.com, tell them to sign up and speak out.

There is already tons of information on the site, and I will be putting alot more info on the site in the next few weeks, all I need now is members to sign up, contribute by way of posting threads, replying to others questions, offering advice from personal experience and so forth. The site is open to any person from around this little planet we all live on if you suffer or are i nterested in mental illness suc h as ....

Thanks for just being here and please feel free to have a browse of the site, and maybe even consider signing up as a member... its free! If you sign up, you are not only helping yourself, but you will help others in the same situation as you, you will most likely gain information, tips, advice, and help with getting rid of the Stigma associated with Mental Illness and much more.

I have three other discussion forums which I am currently working on ... please feel free to check them out and sign up if they are of interest to you!

As follows:

BeautUtes.com The Australian Ute & BNS Ball Discussion Forum
DNBoard.com The Domain Name & Website Discussion Forum
BluePeople.com The Depression & Mental Illness Discussion Forum
BackpackerForum.com The Backpacker & Backpacking Travel Discussion Forum

Thanks for just browsing the site, and an even bigger thank you for being a part of the site, I look forward to getting to know you all... its going to be a great road, things are looking great, there really is light at the end of that tunnel, can you see it? I can!

PS: The beautiful photo above is by the Dutch Painter Vincent van Gogh, who himself suffered from depression and committed suicide, he painted this picture in 1890 of a man that can symbolize the desperation and hopelessness felt in depression. It is a beautiful painting, haunting and describes exactly what depression and mental illness is like

Sensitive Souls
In a college class, I was required to read a book sub titled “The Mental Institution as a Last Resort. The books thesis was that many people are not crazy, but just more sensitive than most people in the society. The author suggested that many mental patients are simply too finely strung to fit into the mainstream, and an institution is a safe place – similar to an ashram or monastery where they can be who they are without having to adapt to a...
